Unlock the world of creativity and self-expression with our Beginners Sewing Class. Whether you've never touched a needle or had a brief encounter with a sewing machine, our classes are designed to instill confidence and ignite your passion for sewing.
Don't worry if you're a complete novice; we will guide you every step of the way, ensuring you feel comfortable and confident throughout the classes. These classes are small in size so you’ll get personal support and guidance throughout the lesson.
Sewing is not just a hobby; it's a skill you'll carry with you for life and the possibilities are endless.

These sewing classes are project based learning Project-Based Approach: We know how motivating it is to create something tangible. With our project-based approach, you'll finish each class with a completed item, from simple accessories to stylish garments.
Our cosy sewing studio is your creative home, equipped with sewing machines, cutting tables, and all the tools necessary to bring your creations to life. Our well stocked studio kitchen is available for tea and coffee while you sew.
Throughout the class you’ll meet like-minded individuals who share a passion for sewing and become part of our creative community.
Join in the crafting fun
Reserve a spot for you and a friend by increasing the ‘Quantity’ indicator. You can book in for multiple days by selecting the date and time, and then clicking ‘Select And Add Another Time’.

It’s completely up to you! Have a look through some sewing patterns and see if anything takes your fancy.
Make sure to pick a pattern or project that incorporates the skills you’d like to learn! -
Once you’ve decided what to sew, you’ll need to ensure you have all the materials to make it!
Read over the pattern you’ve selected and choose the fabric type suggested by the pattern as well as ensuring you get the correct meterage. If you need help understanding the requirements on the pattern, as the friendly staff at the fabric store. Make sure to pick up any haberdashery you need as well; think threads, zips and buttons.
We have complimentary tea and coffee in the studio but if you’re wanting to nibble on some snacks while you create, feel free to bring your own. We have some crockery in the studio kitchen you’re welcome to use.
Now you’ve got all the items you need for your project, bring them along to class to start sewing.

Each class you’ll spend time working on your chosen project. Sometimes you might complete your entire project in one lesson, but often you’ll complete it over a few classes.
You can work through your projects at your own pace, so don’t feel rushed to finish it in one class! We want you to focus on technique and learning new skills, rather than rushing to finish your project.
We’ll help guide you through your chosen project so you’ll have assistance in learning new techniques and skills. These classes are smaller in size (up to six people per class) so you’ll have more one-on-one teaching time.
Over the series you’ll make friends with like-minded sewers, learn new skills, share tips and tricks, and enjoy many cups of tea from our well-stocked studio kitchen. Thursday evenings well spent we’d say!
